Harvey Kaplan.
Part owner Harvey Kaplan has confirmed his star pacer Bling It On will only be having three or four weeks in the paddock and will be aimed at a race on Miracle Mile night. Bling It On is expected to only have a relatively light season and has all but ruled out a trip to Western Australia for the Golden Nugget.
"We would love to give him a good break but when he goes out for a spell he eats too much and can get a bit silly so we are going to target the Mount Eden Championship at Menangle on Miracle Mile night which is a $50,000 race for four year olds," Kaplan said.
"After that his main aim will obviously be the Chariots Of Fire and then the Breeders Crown so he may be able to have a decent break between those two races."
Kaplan confirmed he had some 'very basic' conversations with different studs about standing the son of American Ideal when he retires.
"I would like him to go to stud but the studs realise we want to enjoy the horse as a racing proposition. I'm sure he will get his chance, he has the bloodlines, the temperament and speed so we will entertain further discussions later on down the track."
Another of Kaplan's racing stock MIracle Mile winner Baby Bling is currently spelling but is due back into work soon.
"The plan is to get her in foal and let her carry it through whilst hopefully qualifying for the Ladyship Mile which would be her swansong, at this stage the stallion she will most likely be sent to is Art Major."
"Another one of my fillies, Nike Franco will have an embryo flushed from her this season and she will continue to race on."
Kaplan also races Breeders Crown finalist Show Me The Bling and the lightly raced four year old Epaulette.
