It seemed fitting that the leading metropolitan trainer in New South Wales should win the final race of the season at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday night with trotter Sandys Boy.  Tritton finished the season with 44 metropolitan winners which was more than 10 ahead of his nearest rival Belinda McCarthy.

"Probably the only thing that I would like to improve on next season is to see the stable become a big player in the big races, we had some starters in the big ones and weren't far away but that is an area for improvement for sure," Tritton said.

"We currently have around 50 horses in work and while we have had a bigger team at different times in the past, we have been working on improving the property to ensure we have the facilities to cater for such a big team."

Tritton was full of praise for his staff and his stable driver Lauren Panella.

"We are getting the horses worked and are finishing earlier now than we ever have done before and I put that down to having the right workers around the stable."

"When you take into account that Lauren was missing for four months of the season, she had a great season statistically as well and I think she is driving in the best form of her career right now so her numbers will improve too."

While Tritton was pleased to win a heat of the Inter Dominion with Mach Beauty and believed that to be his season highlight, he is already concentrating on the upcoming races.

"Ardghal is due to be back at the trials this week and Suave Stuey Lombo will keep racing through until Christmas."

"We have had some good news with Mach Beauty because we got a second opinion from another vet in Victoria and they said he could have probably raced on with an issue but he will still have three months off as a precaution."
