For the second consecutive year Amanda Turnbull finished the season as the leading driver in New South Wales with 203 wins.  After finishing a long and tiring twelve months Turnbull is rewarding herself and is currently enjoying a week's break on Hamilton Island but admits she will not be travelling as much in the upcoming season.

"Yes definitely the travelling was getting hard and I am not going to be doing as much this year as I did in the past but it will all depend on what horses are racing where," Turnbull said.

"Dad's (Steve) got a very nice team of M0 and M1 pacers at the moment and we are just going to see how the new grading system effects them because if it gets a bit too hard on them then we might make the decision to transfer a few of the horses down to me in Victoria fulltime."

Turnbull confirmed she will be returning to drive at Tabcorp Park Menangle most weekends.

"That's the plan at the moment, I was flying up to Sydney most weeks from Albury and it seemed to work out pretty well, I just won't be doing as much driving around the country as I was."

"Mitch is doing a good job and Dad will have to drive a few more as well so there will still be plenty of winners for the stable hopefully."

With only a small team in Victoria currently, Turnbull could easily accommodate more horses.

"I think there are only six or seven there at the moment but by the time the holiday is over I think a couple more will have arrived."

Turnbull nominated her father's achievement of training 200 winners as the season highlight.

"It's always nice winning the Gr.1 races but to get Dad over the 200 mark was pretty special after missing out last year."
