My Arya wins the 2YO Fillies Breeders Crown Final.
The best two-year-old trotting filly in Australasia My Arya scored a dominant win in the Aldebaran Park Breeders Crown 2YO Trotting Fillies Final at Tabcorp Park Melton today.
The Mark Purdon trained and driven daughter of Angus Hall worked to the front early before getting headed by Meadow Valley Road and Chris Alford from gate 11.
Purdon wasn’t having a bar of losing the lead though, the New Zealand superstar horseman yanking his star filly away from the pegs and cruising back to the front.
From there she simply dictated the terms with sectionals of 32.5, 32.5, 29.1 and 29 to romp to a 16m victory over Meadow Valley Road, which ran a big race, and pole marker Glenferrie Burn.
It could be a big day for Purdon, who also has Follow The Stars, Big Lucy and Our Twentyten all still to come in finals today.
David Aiken trained the runner up, while Jodi Quinlan drove the third horse for Parwan trainer Geoff Walker.
The winner paid $1.20 on the tote.
