Barry Purdon trained Rocknroll Arden had no cover for the last lap and rated 1:57.7 to win today’s Bettors Delight @ Woodlands Breeders Crown Series 3YO fillies consolation at Tabcorp Park Melton.

The Kiwi filly bounced back from a last-start semi-final flop at Ballarat with a 2.7-metre victory, overpowering early leader Kiss Kenny approaching the home bend before holding off equal favourite Punch Line, which tracked the winner for the final 1000 metres, in the home straight.

Chris Lang trained Lord Liam scored an impressive victory in the Pegasus Spur @ Woodlands Breeders Crown Consolation for 4YO trotters.

The son of Dream Vacation out of six-time winning mare Invasions Pride enjoyed a one-one trail for the last lap and a half over the 2240-metre journey.

Lance Justice trained Invasive made the pace from the pole until the 400m when Chris Alford took Soho Ledger to a narrow lead.

Lord Liam cruised up behind the leaders turning for home before kicking clear for a 6.7-metre win over Soho Ledger, while Bella Cheval hit the line hard for third.

The winner’s mile rate was 2:01.7 with the last half covered in 58.9 seconds.

Demmler’s second success for the day came with Glenferrie Shuffle in the Pet Rock Breeders Crown Consolation for 4YO mares.

Driven by Jodi Quinlan, Glenferrie Shuffle – by Art Major out of Hot Shoe Shuffle – came with a withering late burst to run down Lierre Noir, who ran an enormous race for Amy Tubbs at big odds, while Earth Angel finished third for Josh Aiken.

The winner rated a slick 1:57.0 and scored by 3.2 metres.

In Runaway Bay took out the Roll With Joe Breeders Crown 3YO boys consolation race by three metres for Londonderry trainer Billy Muscat and junior driver Michael Muscat.

In Runaway Bay finished too powerfully for runner-up Braeview Bomber, while Adam Cartwright finished third from the pole draw.

Bernie Hewitt trained and driven Magic Franco battled on strongly after leading in the Empire Stallions Breeders Crown Consolation for 4YO entires and geldings, scoring an all-the-way win.

Magic Franco clocked sectionals of 32.2secs, 29.9secs, 28.2secs and 28.2secs for a short half-head win over Faraway Man.

Earlier in the day Royal Dream scored a 3.2-metre win in the Pegasus Spur @ Woodlands Breeders Crown 3YO trotters’ consolation.

Trained by Joanne Franklin at Moonlight Flats, the filly by Monarchy out of US bred mare Dreamlands Nancy was too strong for Chris Alford trained and driven Miracle, who gave a bold sight out in front, while Michaels Mename finished third.

And Rosemarie Weidenbach trained Phantom Rockstar captured the 2YO Woodlands Stud Breeders Crown 2YO Pace by a head over Christian Jaz in 1:57.8 for driver Kevin Weidenbach Jnr.

Racing returns to Tabcorp Park Melton tomorrow night where the features will be the two Empire Stallions Breeders Crown Graduate Free for All races.
