Recently licenced trainers Amanda Turnbull and Amanda Grieve each landed their first winners last week.

Turnbull, New South Wales’ leading driver, took out the Dunlop Super Dealer Pace at Charlton last Monday with four-year-old Highview Conall, while Grieve won the first heat of the Empire Stallions Vicbred Super Series for four-year-old mares at Bendigo on Saturday with Tandias Courage.

Turnbull won this season’s Mildura Pacing Cup aboard Im Blue Double Dee, while Grieve, who has been working with Tony Herlihy in New Zealand, the Auckland Trotting Club and trainer Dean Braun, didn’t have to wait long to register her first win as a trainer.

Rated to perfection by Chris Alford, Tandias Bromac kicked clear in the home straight to record a 5.6m win in a rate of 1:58.1.

Raced by Thompson Bloodstock Ltd, Tandias Bromac ran her last half-mile in 56.2 seconds and a final quarter in 26.8.
