Defending champion Dexter Dunn heads the list of 10 elite invitees, set to showcase their talents in the 2014 edition of the Noel Smith Memorial Horsham Invitation Drivers Championship, on Labour Day Monday March 10th.

The band of drivers also includes Amanda Turnbull (NSW), Gareth Rattray (TAS), Grant Dixon (QLD), Colin Brown (WA) and Ryan Hryhorec (SA) together with the Victorian quartet of Greg Sugars, Chris Alford, Daryl Douglas and Gavin Lang.

Each contest in the three race series carries penalty free status, with stake money of $6000, out of the mobile gate with no concession claims.

The 3 penalty free invitation drivers events are for pacers assessed C2/3, C0 4yo+  and 3C0 only. Nominations for all races on the program close with HRV at noon on Wednesday March 5th.

The ten invited drivers reined a collective total of 1910 home-ground winners during the 2012/13 season with aggregate stakes in excess of $15 million dollars – a truly outstanding dectet  by any measure.

The big public holiday raceday celebrates both 100 years of “the trots” in Horsham and the 60th anniversary of the lights being switched on for night trotting at the Horsham Showgrounds back in January 1954.

All industry participants attending the meeting will enjoy a complimentary BBQ thanks to the Victorian Trainers & Drivers Association and have the chance to take home a host of “horsey” products courtesy of Carbine Chemicals, Hygain, Zilco, Bertocchi Smallgoods, World’s Best Hoof Oil, Virbac Animal Health, Mustad-O’Dwyers and Flair Equine Nasal Strips.

Supporting events include the $8000 O’Keeffe , $7000 GJ Gardner Final and 3x $1500 VHRSC owners bonus races, the $6000 Wonwondah - 1962 Victorian Trotters Derby tribute, Anniversary 2YO Pace and C1 Pace.
