Blitzthemcalder looks set for the dizzy heights of Group 1 glory in the next few months.
Blitzthemcalder continued his rise as the states most promising trotter when he dominated the Alan Mance Holden Prince Of Speed field from the front.
His main danger Roy Hobbs was out of play following an early break, however it did nothing to ruin the spectacle of the race that was being built up as the best three-year-old trot race at Tabcorp Park Melton ever.
Chris Alford was able to work to the front with Blitzthemcalder and he didn’t stop running halting the clock at 1:56.6.
Interestingly, it was quicker than both the GSS heats and he ripped home his last half in 56.7.
He was in a world of his own in the last lap, with an extravagant action and looks to match all eyes were on the superstar youngster.
Bellmac Kody and Sun Of Sonoko were left to battle out second and third and despite finishing ahead over the line, the latter was relegated due to a late gallop.
The official margin was 29.2 metres and it was an ever widening margin for the odds-on favourite.
Blitzthemcalder is now on his way to New Zealand to tackle the best squaregaiting races across the ditch for the three-year-old’s.
