Meet the face of the 2004 Sky
Channel Nights Of Glory, television presenter and model Grace McClure (pictured
with Chris Alford).
As the ?face of the carnival?
Grace?s role is to promote the nation?s premier harness racing event which
features at Moonee Valley on Saturday nights, 21 & 28 February.
She will feature in pre-promotional
activities and will take an active role in the race night presentation as a
roving reporter for the big screen, interviewing the crowd and roving entertainers.
Making this year?s carnival an
enjoyable experience for regular harness racing fans and seeking to attract a
new generation of followers is the key objective for Harness Racing Victoria.
The appointment of Grace McClure
is just one part of the marketing and promotional strategy.
Grace is co-host of Channel 9?s
new lifestyle program, The Boat Show, and last year the face of Foster?s for
the Australian Grand Prix. Armed with an impressive array of modelling credits
both here and overseas, Grace has also worked as a casual presenter on Channel
10?s Inside Sport program.
?We selected Grace because she is
an identifiable face who will help promote our sport to the wider community,?
HRV?s General Manager ? Marketing Jacqueline Novoselac said.
?She represents the type of
person we are trying to attract to harness racing ? youthful, seeking good
value for money and interested in trying new entertainment experiences.
?This year, we reviewed many
names and ?faces? and after an extensive process decided that Grace best fitted
our criteria.
?The long-term objective is to
grow the Nights Of Glory as our ?signature event? from which we can create a
bigger base of support.?
Whilst the world class harness racing
is the number one priority, patrons attending the Sky Channel Nights Of Glory
can be assured of a dazzling array of live entertainment off the track.
Night one, 21 February, in the
Latin American tradition, is Carnivale Night! Roving performers include
Brazilian percussion band Batacuda, plus there?s salsa dancers, acrobats,
magicians and much, much more!
Night two, 28 February, is the aptly
named Night of Nights! Glamorous roving entertainers including musicians, ?Hollywood
greats?, circus performers, acrobats and many more will add a ?touch of glamour?
to the meeting.
The kids will be suitably impressed
on both nights of the carnival with the Funworks children?s activities, virtual
reality sulky ride, pony rides and petting zoo amongst the free attractions on
offer.
For those wishing to party hard,
fear not, Bar 2040 will be firing trackside with live bands playing from 10pm
until 1am on each night. On 21 February it?s ?Gate 10? taking the stage, while
on Hankook Tyres Hunter Cup night it?s ?Hysteria? belting out the tunes.
Remember adult admission is just
$10 for 21 February and $15 for harness racing?s night of nights on 28
February. Children under 18 will be admitted free when accompanied by an adult.
If you?re looking to do it style,
dining packages still remain, including tickets into the popular Shakamaker
Trackside Marquee. These can be snapped up contacting Moonee Valley direct on
1300 79 79 59.
