Historic appointment as Club appoints first female President

The South Australian Harness Racing Club (SAHRC) has made history by appointing its first ever female President. Lyn Tester was last night appointed unanimously by the Club Committee as its new President, replacing outgoing President, Dr Richard Noble. Mr Geoff Easom was appointed as Vice President.

Ms Tester stated that she was delighted to be the first female President, and waslooking forward to working with the new Committee and serving the Club as part of anew and exciting area. The newly elected Committee Members are Richard Miller,Malcolm Langford and Tony Copeland. Formerly the Vice President of the SAHRC, MsTester was re-appointed to the Committee following the resignation of Dr Noble.

Ms Tester paid tribute to Dr Richard Noble, highlighting his dedicated service to theClub over many years. She stated that the Club was very appreciative of Dr Noble’soutstanding service to the Club, and in particular his work in relation to the Club’s redevelopment.
Ms Tester stated that one of the first tasks for the new Committee will include adetailed review of all aspects of the Club’s business including its finances, racing operations, catering and membership benefits.
