The owners of Washakie from left Gino Monaco, Kevin Jeavons and Lindsay Severn with trainer John McCarthy at Gloucester Park.
The John McCarthy trained duo of Washakie and Terrorway were a class above the opposition drawing well clear turning for home and while Terrorway looked like making a race of it at one point, Washakie has been there before in terms of Grand Circuit racing and carried too many guns at the finish.
It was Washakie’s sixth success in a Grand Circuit race following on from a WA Pacing Cup, Australian Pacing Championship and three M H Treuer Memorials.
Washakie has now won 47 races and $1,579,123 in stakes.
He was brought to WA as a 4yo in 2007 by Jeavons and fellow Perth owners Gino Monaco and Lindsay Severn.
Monaco is currently the Senior Vice-President of Gloucester Park Harness Racing.
