Star pacer Im Victorious will continue on his way to the Gloucester Park four-year-old ‘Triple Crown’ when he competes in the Smith And Hooper Handicap on Friday night coming off the 10 metre mark.
The son Washington VC has now won 10 from 11 starts, including last season’s Sky Racing WA Derby and is unbeaten from his three starts this preparation.
Trainer Michael Brennan couldn’t be happier with the progress of his stable star.
“He’s going super” said the Group One winning trainer
“He has done everything asked of him so far and has improved since his win in the $25,000 Colin Cowden Final a couple of weeks ago”
Brennan also sent an ominous warning to his rivals this Friday night.
“Justin hasn’t pulled the earplugs this campaign, but that might not be the case this week”
It will be Im Victorious’ second standing start race of his career, after winning first-up this campaign from the 30 metre mark in a race at Bunbury.
“He had no problems with the stand start when he was fresh and it just seemed the better option for him at this stage of his campaign”.
The up-coming four-year-old series of the TABtouch 4YO Championship, the McInerney Ford Classic and the Lancaster Park Golden Nugget is one of the most anticipated in years.
Taking on Im Victorious will be recent Melton Plate winner Chancellor Cullen, Group One winner and new Gary Hall stable acquisition, Soho Valencia and Mr Nickel, who made a winning Western Australian debut for the Greg and Skye Bond stable at Northam last Sunday.
