Harness racing Hall of Famer, Chris Lewis confirmed today that he would compete for the first time in the Decron Horse Care Noel Smith Memorial Invitation Drivers Championship at the Horsham Racing Centre on Monday May 21st.

Lewis, who also an inductee of the WA Institute of Sport's Hall of Champions, takes on a host of driving talent at Horsham including defending champion Chris Alford, in the 3 race contest.

Lewis will cross the Nullabor fresh from notching up his 46th Group 1 career victory with the outstanding filly Sensational Gabby, in the$150,000 Gannon's WA Oaks.

The living legend has driven in excess of 4000 winners including every feature race on the Western Australian calendar with multiple wins in most of them. He is generally regarded as the best big race driver in the State due to his apparent coolness under pressure and his overall record is a long way in advance of any WA driver, past or present.

Kiwi ace Dexter Dunn (NZ) will also make the journey to Horsham for the prestigeous series along with Gareth Rattray (Tas.), Ashlee Siejka (NSW), David Harding (SA) and Grant Dixon (Q'ld.)

Star Victorian drivers, Daryl Douglas, Kerryn Manning and Gavin Lang round off the elite band of ten to do battle for the 22nd Horsham Invitation Crown.

A host of sponsors have backed the big day with giveaways galore to make the occasion a memorable one for all trainers, drivers, stablehands and owners racing at Horsham. The list is led by naming rights sponsor Decron Horse Care Company along with Carbine Chemicals, Victorian Trainers & Drivers Ass'n, Challenger Sulkies Aust. & N.Z., Hygain Feeds, Mustad Aust. -O'Dwyer Horseshoes,

Virbac-Equimax, Provizor Australia, Flair Equine Nasal Strips, Mike Dickinson Productions, Zilco Harness, Norton Estate Winery, Harness Racing Travelworld, Designs n Signs and Oringi Protection Wear.
