Victorian superstar Sokyola (pictured) is favoured to win Saturday night?s $40,000 APCO Easy Shops Geelong Pacing Cup after drawing favourably in gate three.

Fresh from his courageous second in the South Australian Cup, the Lance Justice-trained pacer has the perfect alley to chase an all-the-way victory in the Group 3 race.

New Zealand iron-horse and recent Cranbourne Cup winner Mister D G will prove hardest to topple for ace Kiwi trainer Tim Butt, despite drawing poorly in gate seven.

In a field that collectively boasts 220 wins and $3.2 million in stakes, other runners of note include the past two Geelong Cup winners ? Country Ways (2003) and Wally Walton (2002).

Reigning Hunter Cup champion Mont Denver Gold, rejuvenated veteran Jonells Son and glamour girl Sassy Sarah add considerable depth to the 2570 metre event.

Terang veteran Western Light, who?ll make his 100th racetrack appearance in the Cup, carries the hopes of a ?local? victory with APCO Easy Shops founder, Ron Anderson, headlining a group of Bellarine Peninsula-based owners.

The field for the APCO Easy Shops Geelong Pacing Cup, to be run at 10pm (AET), is;
