Harness Racing New South Wales will conduct a series of industry forums in regional areas across the state to discuss the future direction of the sport with its participants and stakeholders.
The roadshows will be held throughout January and February on a broad range of topics directly linked to the strategic plan for harness racing in New South Wales.
HRNSW management will be presenting information on key focus areas such as Handicapping, Programming, Insurance, Employment, Welfare and Training, Meeting Allocations, Prizemoney and Wagering.
The schedule commences in Bathurst tomorrow night before moving to Wagga on Wednesday.
HRNSW Chief Executive John Dumesny said the forums were a crucial part of the commitment made to provide open lines of communication and engagement across the industry.
“There is plenty to be excited as we launch into 2022. Our sport continues to evolve at a significant pace and it is important that we are able to get the right information to everyone involved in the most effective and efficient way possible,” Mr Dumesny said.
“But just as vital as the distribution of information is the ability to canvas and hear the opinions, ideas and concerns of our participants and stakeholders so we can all move forward in the same direction.”
The forums are expected to run for approximately two hours with time allocated for discussion from the floor.
The roadshows move to Newcastle and Tamworth next week, followed by sessions in Goulburn, Menangle and Penrith.
“I am really looking forward to seeing our participants and tireless contributors who really make our sport the best that it can be and hopefully some new faces who want to be involved in the industry,” Mr Dumesny said.
“As we come off the back of a hugely successful Inter Dominion campaign and go full steam ahead into our Group 1 calendar and Carnival of Cups program across the state, I am excited about sharing the news and initiatives which will complement our future growth and sustainability.”
