QLD - Prizemoney Value Changes effective January 1, 2022

30 December 2021

Please note effective January 1, 2022 Queensland prizemoney values will change due to:

A) An increase in the trainers percentage to 10%

B) The 1% Equine Welfare levy now being included within the race stake

The prizemoney value increases ensures that owners are not disadvantaged by either of the above changes, therefore owners will receive the same share of prizemoney in the bank if not slightly more than previously allocated.

When assessing advertised prizemoney values against what is paid please take into account a 1% Equine Welfare levy will be deducted from the advertised place distribution for all starters.

Once again whilst the 1% Equine Welfare levy is now built into prizemoney and will be deducted from each of the owners, trainers and drivers share of prizemoney no one will receive any less than the previous prizemoney distribution levels in 2021.

As part of the prizemoney changes Albion Park Saturday night will now host a second $20,000 race each Saturday night.  These $20,000 races will be allocated on a rotational basis across some of the normal Saturday night races including Qualifying, Mares Qualifying, Band 5, Band 4 to Band 2 and Open class races but will also include new races for QBRED's and 70-90 rated horses amongst other options.  Please check your race programs for details of these races into the future.

For any queries please contact Brett Rail at the Racing Queensland Racing Office on (07) 3869 9774.
