NSW Government Lockdown Orders for

Suburbs in Penrith Local Government Area (LGA)

Following the additional lockdown orders imposed by the NSW Government from 5pm today, the following suburbs in the Penrith Local Government Areas (LGA) are now affected:

  • Caddens
  • Claremont Meadows
  • Colyton
  • Erskine Park
  • Kemps Creek
  • Kingswood
  • Mount Vernon
  • North St Marys
  • Orchard Hills
  • Oxley Park
  • St Clair
  • St Mary's

In relation to those suburbs, HRNSW advises the following:

The NSW Government Health Order allows licensed participants living in those suburbs to attend to their horses on animal welfare grounds, which includes the feeding and exercising of horses.

Accordingly, licensed participants who reside in any of those suburbs and who have a registered stable location outside of the Penrith LGA, can continue to attend their stable location on animal welfare grounds, on the condition that they provide HRNSW with the result of a negative COVID test every 72 hours.

Participants are reminded of Australian Harness Racing Rule 238:

AHRR 238 – A person shall not fail to comply with any order, direction or requirement of the Controlling Body or the Stewards relating to harness racing or the harness racing industry.

In addition, it should be noted that licensed participants who reside in any of those suburbs are unable to attend any race meeting or trials outside of the Penrith LGA.

Trainers who reside within any of the nominated suburbs, who have a horse nominated for a race meeting or trials outside of the Penrith LGA, can make application to HRNSW Stewards to nominate an authorised representative to transport and attend to their horses at the race meeting or trials.

Those applications should be made by 4pm on the day prior to the race meeting or trials on the following Trainer’s Representative form.

Link to form.

The authorised representative nominated by a Trainer will only be approved if they reside outside of the nominated suburbs or LGA’s already subject to NSW Government lockdown orders.

Licensed participants who enter the lockdown zone at any time are reminded that they MUST comply with NSW Government Health Orders once they leave the lockdown zone.

Importantly, licensed participants should ensure that they have advised HRNSW of their current residential address.

Any enquiries should be made to HRNSW Stewards on 9722 6655.

HRNSW management reminds all industry participants of the available industry support program.
