We had three Group successes at Melton highlighted by the spectacular wins of comeback hero Tornado Valley NZ (by SKYVALLEY) in the Group 1 Great Southern Star.

The gelding hoisted a new track record and a fresh lifetime mark of 1:53.1 for 1720 metres winning the $50,000 elimination, then two hours later, zipped home along the passing lane to down the best trotters in commission in the $300,000 Final in 1:57.1.

Tornado Valley NZ has now won 37 races and $976,617 in stakes and is clearly the richest of his gait racing in the Southern Hemisphere at the present. His 21 victories at Melton is the most by a trotter.
