Claiming races have been programmed at the Saturday, Monday and Tuesday race meetings every week since the beginning of the new season and a metropolitan claiming race has been programmed once a month at Gloucester Park.
To date the interest in these races has been negligible. To ensure owners and trainers are aware of the programmed claiming races a system change has occurred that will display all claiming races in the View Races screen on Harnessweb.
A trainer can only nominate a horse for a claiming race if:
- A claiming authority form for the horse has been completed and submitted to RWWA
- The horse fits the conditions of the claiming race. (ALL Claiming races will appear even if they don’t match the horse's claim authority)
- The claiming price is added in the nomination comments field when nominating.
Claiming races are programmed to run through until the end of March at which time a decision on the future inclusion of claimers will be made.
