PLANS remain modest with classy mare Treasure despite her latest feature victory.
Competing at Globe Derby during the weekend, Treasure was a class above her rivals in the State Of Origin Final to complete a clean sweep of the series.
Despite her Group Two success there are no specific targets set Treasure for according to regular driver Lisa Ryan.
Ryan’s husband Toby trains the daughter of Art Major.
“We didn’t have any plans set out for her beyond that series,” Ryan said. “So what is next for her is still undecided.
“With the rating system though it will be very hard on her as she pretty much has to face open company and the likes of Emain Macha.
“There was talk of her becoming a broodmare this year, which may be on the cards next breeding season.”
After working forward to find the lead from barrier four, Treasure was never seriously challenged on her way to four-and-a-half metre win from The Queen Of Heart, which was gallant after racing in the ‘death seat’.
Miss Iconic was 15 metres away third.
“She did it quite comfortably,” Ryan said. “Once she got to the front she had the race under control.”
Rating 1:58.5 over 1800 metres, the four-year-old stretched her record to 12 wins and 12 placings from 34 starts for earnings of $161,402.
Treasure’s successes include three Group Twos.
