DESPITE growing up at Junee tonight will be the first time reinswoman Ashley Hart drives at that track.

Hart has been around the 800 metre circuit before with her mini trotters, however, never under race conditions as she relocated to Sydney early on in her driving career.

Hart is competing in the Invitational Drivers Series at the Carnival of Cups meeting and is the only female driver contesting in it.

“It’s a huge thrill to be selected to drive at my home track,” she said.

“I was born and bred in Junee and it’s good to come home and drive against some of the local drives and in front of the local crowd.”

Hart will be up against Riverina reinsmen including Bruce Harpley, Blake Jones, Peter McRae, Adam Richardson and James McPherson.

The ‘city’ drivers include Joshua Gallagher, Leonard Cain, Will Rixon and David Morris. After three heats, the driver with the most points will take out the series.

The Junee Cup (race five) is the main feature on the card.
