The performance of three two-year-olds at Gloucester Park tonight will determine when trainer-driver Aiden De Campo starts his seven day suspension for his drive on American Delight last Friday night.

De Campo pleaded guilty and was suspended by stewards after he made contact with Dancing With Mach’s leg when he shifted down the track in the Lewis Final.

He said he elected to wait until tonight’s meeting to determine when to start the suspension, given he has Handsandwheels engaged in the RWWA Cup this Friday.

“If my two-year-olds happen to qualify for the final then I’ll have to take it tonight, because I want to be back for the final,” he told TABradio.

“If they don’t qualify then good luck getting me out of the seat on Friday behind him.”

De Campo has a strong hand in the opening two heats of the Sales Classic for the colts and geldings and fillies respectively.

Rock On The Beach and The Good Life have drawn barriers one and six respectively in the Westside Auto Wholesale Sales Classic Heat (1730m), the first of four heats for the colts and geldings on the card.

“He’s a nice horse,” he said.

“His first-up run was good and he did everything right.

“He’s got a good barrier so we will try and take advantage of that and lead.

“If he does that I think he will go close.”

Dylan Egerton-Green drives The Good Life and De Campo said he expected a good showing from the colt on debut, despite the tricky gate.

Secret Reaction also drew barrier one in the Channel 7 Sales Classic, the first of two heats for the fillies.

De Campo said he expected the filly would also be able to capitalise on the good draw.

“She’s a nice enough filly,” he said.

“She seems to have nice enough manners and good gate speed in a couple of trials.

“I’ll be looking to take advantage of that barrier draw.

“From there, drawn barrier one around Gloucester Park and in a two-year-old race, you wouldn’t think we’d cop too much pressure.”

Meanwhile, Galactic Star and Our Alfie Romeo have been dealt horror draws for their respective assignments at Menangle on Saturday night.

Our Alfie Romeo has drawn the outside of the front row in barrier 10 for the Group 2 Robin Dundee Stakes (1609m) as she starts her Ladyship Mile campaign.

The draw wasn’t much kinder to Galactic Star in the Cordina Value Added Poultry Pace (2300m), who has barrier nine and just one runner outside of him on the front row.
