Exciting Executive leadership opportunity at Trots Clubs Victoria.
About Us
TCV is a progressive representative body which is recognised by governing body Harness Racing Victoria as the voice for the 45 plus harness racing clubs located throughout Victoria.
Recently TCV has developed a strategy led by a restructured Executive committee that has introduced effective member communication strategies, developed a mutually beneficial working relationship with HRV and implemented a strategic focus to address and make recommendations with respect to industry and club issues/opportunities.
With Harness Racing in Victoria currently undertaking a period of exciting change, the Executive is looking for a EO to build on its current foundations and lead the club network through the next phase of industry change to help ensure a sustainable and vibrant club network throughout Victoria into the future.
Reporting to the Executive, some responsibilities include:
• Ensure effective ongoing communication between Clubs and HRV in addition to other industry stakeholders to ensure member clubs remain informed
• In conjunction with the Executive develop strategies to support and improve the management, governance and promotion of the industry by Victorian Harness Racing Clubs
• Liaise, advise and work with senior HRV staff on key strategic issues and opportunities pertinent to the Club network
• Represent TCV at Industry forums, meetings and events
• Govern TCV in accordance with appropriate rules and legislation
• Oversee the financial management of TCV
• Promote TCV as a progressive, professional and respected industry contributor
The successful applicant will have:
• Strong business acumen with strategic focus
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of the Club sporting culture, particularly with respect to harness racing
• A track record in building & maintaining networks from grass roots to senior levels of Government
This is a full-time position based at Harness Racing Victoria’s Head office in Flemington, with regional travel and weekend work expected from time to time.
