HARNESS Racing New South Wales Stewards would like to remind all trainers of their obligation under AHRR90A (2.10) (d) & (e)

AHRR 90A (2.10) (d) If a trainer is unable to attend a race meeting where any horse trained by him is engaged to race:-

     (i)  He must nominate in writing his licensed stable representative or another licensed trainer to be responsible for such horse at the meeting.

(ii)  The nomination must be notified to the Stewards no later than one (1) hour prior to the advertised starting time of the race.

(iii)  The nomination must be accompanied by the written consent of the nominee accepting such nomination.

(iv)  The nomination cannot be further delegated.

(e)       Any nomination by the trainer in accordance with sub-rules (c) and (d) does not relieve the trainer of the responsibilities imposed by sub-rules (a) and (b).

To ensure consistency across NSW, HRNSW will provide by the following link, a standard form that must be completed and submitted to HRNSW Stewards by no later than one (1) hour before the advertised starting time of any relevant race.

It is permitted that a trainer, during a racing season, can nominate one (1) licenced person to act as their authorised representative for a racing season when the Trainer is unable to attend a meeting.

Failure to comply with this direction may result in penalties being imposed against the trainer under the provision of Australian Harness Racing Rule (AHRR) 238.

AHRR 238. A person shall not fail to comply with any order, direction or requirement of the Controlling Body or the Stewards relating to harness racing or to the harness racing industry.
