Longshot guru Pat Harding and RWWA’s racing communications co-ordinator Tim Walker are two members of the WA Trotting Media Guild who have made prolific winner Ideal Liner their best bet at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

“My best bet Ideal liner duly saluted last week and I expect him to repeat the dose in race three on Friday night,” Harding said. “He’s racing in great form and should win well in this field.”

Walker agrees.

“It’s the third week in a row this pacer goes around and he should be winning again,” Walker said. “Progressive pacer and looks like he's benefiting with every outing he has at the races.”

The West Australian’s racing co-ordinator Ryan Havercroft is keen on Theo Aviator.

“Theo Aviator jumps off the page as my best at the meeting with a higher HWOE tally than his seven rivals combined,” Havercroft said. “He started from a wider barrier and favourite in a much stronger field two starts ago when winning the $50,000 3YO Pearl Classic.”

TABradio’s Matt Young believes punters can make a great start to the night by supporting Liam Neil in the opening event.

“Liam Neil freshened up with a strong third last start and should have the speed to lead and excels as a frontrunner,” Young said. “You can start the night off right by backing him.”

The West Australian’s Ernie Manning likes Heza Head Honcho.

“Heza Head Honcho gets his chance to break a 12-run losing sequence when he starts from barrier one,” Manning said. “The gelding has sufficient speed to hold up, judging by the way he led  when also drawing the pole a fortnight ago. He finished a close second to Ruling Gold on that occasion, but now looks poised for his third Gloucester Park victory.”

Novice racecaller Hayden King believes Bad Round can score an all-the-way victory.

“Bad Round has built into some really strong form his last couple of runs and will certainly be trying for an all-the-way win,” King said. “That’s the role where he races best.”

Guild president Wayne Currall believes it could be a night to remember for The West’s racing writer Ernie Manning.

“Without wanting to jinx Ernie at all, I think his namesake can win the $100,000 Pearl Classic,” Currall said. “Manning was impressive in his heat win in slick time and has the services of champion reinsman Chris Lewis.”

VALUE BETS

PAT: I believe Madame Meilland can give punters a good return. I am sure Chris Lewis can have her well placed to pounce at the finish.

TIM: If Baylan Jett can get clear running, he looks a great bet in this race. Been running in some nice races and this looks a good draw for him. The one may be suspect late. Intriguing little race.

RYAN: Baylan Jett is drawn to be behind the leader like he was two starts ago when he trailed Vinecnzo Perrugia to the line. Looks a good place bet again.

MATT: Smoldering Ashes is racing well and looks well placed to finish in the money from a nice draw.

ERNIE: Infinite Symbol has drawn inside the back line after winning only once in her past eight starts. But she showed a glimpse of her best when bouncing back from two unplaced runs to finish third behind The War Nurse last Friday night.

HAYDEN: Batavia On Fire has improved exponentially in the last couple of months and is in red-hot form. If the speed is on he will be rattling home.

WAYNE: Dominate The Dojo has been racing in career-best form with three seconds at his past three starts. Drawn gate nine over the longer trip, but with his blinding speed out of the machine he could cross them at the start.
