About the Organisation

Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) is a statutory body whose role is to oversee all harness racing activity in Victoria. We are committed to developing a vibrant and sustainable harness racing industry which promotes participation, integrity and racing excellence and grow returns to all our stakeholders. We run approximately 450 race meetings per year at 28 tracks throughout Victoria. 

The Opportunity

HRV has an exciting opportunity within the Flemington Head Office as the Investigations and Compliance Manager reporting into to the General Manager of Integrity.

HRV’s integrity unit is responsible for overseeing the reputation and integrity of harness racing in Victoria.  The Manager Integrity & Compliance will have the responsibility for non-race day integrity functions. Key responsibilities may include: 

  • Conducting investigations, preparing briefs
  • Handling appeals to relevant tribunals
  • Managing HRVs drug control program
  • Managing program of stable inspections
  • Managing the licensing of industry participants
  • Liaison with Office of the Racing Integrity Commissioner

About You

  • This position is suitable for someone who has significant investigations experience and is seeking a possible career change opportunity. 
  • You may be a current serving member or have prior experience gained in a law enforcement agency or has therwise be an appropriately qualified investigator. 
  • You will also have proven experience leading and managing a small team and take pride in leading by example and promote a professional collaborative culture. 
  • A strong communicator
  • You will be able to quickly analyse situations, carefully plan and conduct investigations and provide timely and accurate advice and recommendations to senior levels.
  • Legal or investigative qualifications is highly regarded.
  • A genuine desire to work and make a contribution to protecting the integrity of the racing industry is a must.
