Harness Racing SA, and the entire South Australian harness racing industry are saddened at the passing over the weekend of David Jolly, one of the industries true gentlemen, and we express our deepest condolences and extend our sincere sympathies to Naomi, and David’s family at this sad time.

Until very recently David was President of the SA BOTRA (Breeders, Owners, Trainers and Reinspersons Association) and was a tireless supporter of, not only that organisation, but also the greater harness racing industry in South Australia.

David’s contributions were innumerable but included, for many years, providing horses for exhibitions at the Royal Adelaide Show in an effort to promote harness racing. Additionally, David was often also seen at racing events where, while he didn’t have horses involved, he would nevertheless be present to assist whoever and in whatever capacity required.

David had a unique quality of being able to inject optimism into any engagement and the positivity he engendered, together with his generosity and commitment to harness racing in South Australia will be long remembered.
