Dual World Driving Champion Jody Jamieson has been engaged to drive Maori Law in the Inter Dominion Trotting Championship.

Jamieson will feature as a guest of Harness Racing Australia (HRA) throughout the Inter Dominion series as the keynote speaker for its upcoming conference on December 14.

A winner of over 7,700 races, including the 2007 edition of the Little Brown Jug with Tell All, Jamieson is no stranger to driving in Australia. Jody represented Canada in the 2015 World Driving Championship in Sydney and was successful at Bathurst (twice) and at Wagga Wagga. Venturing to Victoria following the series, he finished second on Vincennes in the Great Southern Star of that year.

Jamieson will be available for drives on each night of the Inter Dominion Carnival, in addition to the Stawell Cup meeting on Sunday December 2 and Bendigo on December 6.

Maori Law’s owner, Fred Crews, said he was excited to have Jamieson drive his charge throughout the series. Jamieson steps in for the trotter’s regular driver, Gavin Lang, who is committed to the horse he trains, Save Our Pennys.

Maori Law, who is rated a $9 chance to win the Inter Dominion final, has drawn gate six in the first heat of the trotters series at Melton on Saturday night. The horse is set to start second favourite in the heat behind kiwi raider Speeding Spur.
