On 3 October 2018, the Harness Racing Victoria (HRV) Racing Appeals and Disciplinary (RAD) Board considered a charge issued by HRV Stewards against licensed trainer Tim Bolitho under Australian Harness Racing Rule (AHRR) 190(1).
The charge was issued after Racing Analytical Services Limited reported that analysis of a post-race urine sample from ‘All Eyes And Ears’, following its win at Horsham on 23 November 2017, revealed an arsenic concentration above the allowable threshold.
After considering submissions from both parties, Mr Bolitho was found guilty of the charge and issued with a $3000 fine, of which $1000 was suspended for 12 months. A previously suspended fine of $2000 from 14 November 2017 was also subsequently invoked.
An order was also made under AHRR 195 to disqualify ‘All Eyes And Ears’ from the subject race and amend the placings accordingly.
