CONNECTIONS of talented filly Goodtime Heaven hope her love affair with Tabcorp Park Menangle can continue during the next few weeks.
Sent across the Murray to contest a New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge heat at the world class venue today, Goodtime Heaven captured the qualifier in effortless fashion for trainer Courtney Slater.
During her previous visit the daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven secured the Evolution Series Final.
Thanks to her latest triumph Goodtime Heaven will progress to the Breeders’ Challenge semi at Menangle in a bid to book a berth in the $150,000 decider there on July 1.
“She’s two from two at Menangle, so it would be nice if she can maintain that perfect record for at least another couple of starts,” Slater said.
Driven by Glen Craven, Goodtime Heaven led throughout from barrier two to account for Island Banner and Ideal Fantasy in 1:53.4 over a mile.
“She went really well,” Slater said. “I’m very happy with her run.
“Glen said she had plenty in her tank at the finish and she has pulled up an absolute treat.
“Now I will just keep her ticking along before the semis in about 10 days and hopefully she can make her way into the Final.”
A graduate of the Ladbrokes APG Yearling Sales, the three-year-old boasts an impeccable record of six wins from seven starts this term.
“She has really come of age as a three-year-old,” Slater said. “Now we’ll just keep pushing forward with her and hope she can continue to develop.”
Goodtime Heaven’s victory was part of an APG dominance in the heats, with Sales graduates winning three of the four qualifiers.
Redbank Addi annexed the first fillies’ heat in 1:53.7, while Picard was too good in the ‘boys’ division, scoring in 1:52.6.
