PLANS have changed with boom filly Shez All Rock.
Sent across the Tasman to contest the Harness Jewels – which she won yesterday - Shez All Rock was expected to return to original trainer Mark Pitt ahead of two major targets.
Selecting the daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven at the Melbourne Australian Pacing Gold Sale, Pitt prepared the youngster to win eight of her nine starts, including the New South Wales and Victoria Oaks.
As a condition of her sale before the latter Blue Riband, Shez All Rock was transferred to New Zealand couple Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen for the Harness Jewels.
Driven by Purdon in the Group One, the three-year-old was never seriously challenged to score from Dizzy Miss Lizzy and Ella Mac in a quick 1:51.8 over a mile.
Given her eligibility for the Vicbred Super Series and Australasian Breeders’ Crown, Shez All Rock was reported to be heading back to Pitt, but will remain with Purdon and Rasmussen.
The switch is also likely to result in Shez All Rock bypassing the Vicbred before tracking the Crown in August.
“I have just been talking to Chris (Ryder, owner) and the decision has been made to leave Shez All Rock with us at this stage,” Purdon said via press release.
“She will have a little break and then get ready for the Breeders' Crown in August. She is an exceptionally gifted pacer.”
Pitt, who is interstate attending a friend’s wedding, stated he is yet to be informed of the decision to leave Shez All Rock on the Shaky Isles.
