Harness Racing Victoria was saddened to learn of the passing of Neville Walker.
Mr Walker was treasurer of the Victorian Harness Racing Sports Club after joining the committee in 2010 and was instrumental in overseeing the sale of the Junction Club in Moonee Ponds.
An integral part of establishing the future direction of the VHRSC, Mr Walker was described by colleagues as a “true gentleman and such an invaluable part of VHRSC. He was always kind and respectful.”
Mr Walker had a lifelong love of harness racing and has owned horses over the years trained by Lance Justice and Bruce Morgan.
His wife, Mary, was from the Gath family.
Mr Walker passed away suddenly while in Bali on Tuesday, where he and his wife Mary loved visiting each and every year.
HRV extends its sincerest condolences to Mr Walker’s family and friends.
