SURELY by now, at least in harness racing jargon, it’s time to add to the list of superlatives.
Already an inspiration due to her comeback from a career-threatening injury several years ago, Dani Hill has become a superlative on her own.
Driving in sensational form, Hill led the Australasian total of wins during the recent Teal Pants Campaign - a feat she also achieved in 2017.
Last month Hill domination the Australian Female Drivers’ Championship in Tasmania to claim the inaugural title as the Queen of the Paceway!
Representing South Australia, Hill won five of the nine heats, while also finishing with a half-head second and a third.
While Hill was lucky to drive some favourites during her visit to the Apple Isle, she wasn’t granted the same luxury in last night’s Reinswomen Invitational at Globe Derby...but that didn’t change the result
Partnering middle of the market stock, Hill still managed to claim the series as Queenslander, Narissa McMullen, and Western Australia’s Madeleine Young filled the placings.
“It was a wonderful night and to come out on top is very satisfying,” Hill said. “The horses I drove weren’t necessarily in the expected to win, but they all ran well.
“To have a win with Rocking With Charm and three seconds was a terrific result.”
Prepared by Frank Turner, Rocking With Charm scored in 1:57.1 over 1800 metres at $12.20 on the tote. It was the gelding’s first win since last October.
Victorian Kima Frenning began the series with a win, with McMullen, Dannielle McMullen, Young and Jocylen Young securing heats.
