Kilcoy Race club will be conducting their annual Dual Code Kilcoy Diggers Race Day TAB meeting on Saturday 21st April 2018 with a six-gallop race program and three grass harness races together with three exciting mini trotting races.

Through the generous sponsors, Mr Peter Boyce OAM, of Butler McDermott Lawyers and Mr Ian McCauley OAM, the Kilcoy Club are offering the following bonuses for the harness events, $200-00 for the leading harness trainer and $200-00 for the leading harness driver on the day.

Trainers will be allocated points as follows 4 points for first, 3 points for second, 2 points for third and 1 point for every unplaced horse while for  drivers the points allocation will be 3 points for first, 2 points for second, 1 point for third.

The three grass harness races, all mobile starts, will be run over the 1820 metres grass track and be run prior to the thoroughbred events.

The three mini trotting races are from set handicapping and is an absolute enjoyment to watch the drivers of the future striving to win their races.  The turnout and condition of these ponies and their drivers is a credit to the organisers.

The Diggers race day is supported by the Commanding Officer of the 8th/9th Battalion based at the Gallipoli Barracks, Enoggera and his soldiers.  The soldiers will also be bringing their “Bushmaster” PMV`s for display for the day.

The 8th/9th Battalion`s Pipes and Drums will be playing and entertaining patrons during the day.

A ceremony in recognition of and to honour the courage and sacrifice made by Australian Diggers and Service Personnel in Major Campaigns, Battles, Peacekeeping and Peacemaking Operations will be performed.

Another feature of the day will be the conducting of the “Fashions on the Field” for ladies, gents and couples. There will be excellent prize money and prizes for all winners.

The famous Kilcoy Steak Sandwiches will be in plentiful supply, plus refreshment bars, dining room facilities with country cooked cakes, scones, pies, sandwiches etc.

A strong ring of bookmakers will be operating and there will be full Ubet facilities operating.
