Mount Gambier is the place to be for anyone who truly loves our sport and who is desperate for one hell of a great experience for the running of the Baxter Hire & Sales Pacing Gold Cup - 3 March 2018.  Come see who wins the $12,000 on offer, plus a beautiful trophy, a set harness for the trainer and a trophy for the winning  driver.

This will be the 45th running of the Cup and as you can see by the winners list below it’s an almost an unbelievably diverse mix of sires and dam sires represented in the winners and breeding columns.

Also on the night will be the UBET Pacing Cup - C6 or Better ($10,000 & trophy) will also be a hotly contested race and what’s not lost on me is that Ubet is coming to the table again after it’s wonderful support with our Wayville night and the most recent Allwood Sale that will bring South Australia its very first Group One race for 2yo’s.

Don’t forget we will also be running the Mountain View Derby - $7,000, and the Canny Ever Mount Gambier Trotters Cup - $8,000.

The weekend will Kick off on Friday night ( March 2) with the Calcutta at the Linksview Bar & Bistro, which guarantees to be a night not to be missed.

The club has gone to great lengths with providing activities for children, marquees, and of course the running of the Punters Club

The Club President, Mr Phil Wood thought he had secured a major coup for the weekend by the way of signing an elite speaker and great harness racing man, until it was realized he was double booked. Well today, we can say, it’s with almost the same level of excitement that Mr Gary Crocker will now be the new guest speaker for the evening.

Country Clubs like Mount Gambier are the future of our sport, so can l call on all harness racing fans to make the trip to Mount Gambier for the Cup weekend starting March 2 so you can hang out with some truly incredible people that run and support the code we love.

For all details please contact the President of the Mount Gambier Harness Racing Club, Phil Woods on 0407 609 206
