Exciting pacer Mister Lennox returned to his brilliant best to surge clear of a class field and score a memorable victory in the Triple M Hobart Pacing Cup on Sunday night.

Mister Lennox, trained by Juanita McKenzie (pictured), a  former Tasmanian Derby and dual Launceston Golden Mile winner began slowly but safely and settled in tenth spot in the field of fourteen.

Race favourite Taurisi galloped out for Todd Rattray and lost all chance while the last start Carrick winner The Majority ran to the front for Gareth Rattray and trainer Matthew Dwyer.

Call Her Julie and 2016 Easter Cup winner Riverboat Jasper made mid-race moves towards the lead while Hall of Fame driver Ricky Duggan sat back biding his time second last with Mister Lennox.

As the field thundered down to get the bell Rodney Ashwood made his move with Remeber Joe out three-wide on the track and Duggan was quick to latch onto the back of Mister Lennox's stablemate.

Duggan sat patiently on the back of Remember Joe until the 300-metre mark before making his move with the Changeover - Tuapeka Osprey six-year-old gelding.

When the move came it was swift and decisive.

Mister Lennox's shadow loomed large on the home turn and he shot clear in the straight as if he had just joined in.

The victory was a fitting tribute to the training prowess of Juanita Mckenzie.

McKenzie has been the state's leading Female trainer for five of the last six seasons and currently sits third on the overall State Trainers Premiership table behind Ben Yole and Todd Rattray and two wins clear of Rohan Hillier.

Watch the Juanita McKenzie trained Mr Lennox charge clear of its rivals over the concluding stages for Ricky Duggan in The Triple M Hobart Pacing Cup in Hobart.
