MACKENZIE

LADBROKES Australian Pacing Gold purchase Mackenzie was too strong when first-up at Yonkers Raceway during the weekend.

Given time to settle early, mare was sent forward by driver Jordan Stratton, who was prepared to pressure the leader, Call Me Queen Be, from the breeze.

Forging her way to the front halfway along the home stretch, Mackenzie scored from Best Of Jenna and All About Madi.

The daughter of Rock N Roll Heaven stopped the clock in 1:54 to register her 13th win of the season.

Last April the Peter Tritton trained five-year-old captured the $310,000 Matchmaker Final.

Mackenzie is a daughter of former star mare Kept For Pleasure, which was triumphant in the 2007 Australian Pacing Gold.

Kept For Pleasure also won the 2008 Three-Year-Old APG Final.

Boasting three winners from four starters, Kept For Pleasure is also the dam of multiple Group One winner and Ladbrokes APG graduate, Vincent.
