1982 Perth Inter Dominion winning reinsman Colin Warwick with his sons Ryan (at rear) and Brett.

Ryan Warwick will drive the Skye Bond trained Galactic Star in the 2017 TABtouch Inter Dominion final next Friday night.

Warwick will be aiming to equal the achievement of his father Colin and drive an Inter Dominion winner.

Ryan’s father Colin was at the reins when Rhett’s Law took out the 1982 Inter Dominion Championship at Gloucester Park for trainer Mark Roberts.

The only father and son to each drive an Inter Dominion winner are the NSW pair of Steve and Tony Turnbull.

Steve Turnbull won the 2002 Inter Dominion with Smooth Satin while his father Tony Turnbull won both the 1973 and 1974 Inter Dominions with champion Hondo Grattan.

Hondo Grattan won the 1973 final at Harold Park in Sydney and then made it back to back wins when he took out the 1974 final at Gloucester Park.

Galactic Star's trainer Skye Bond has joined Fran Donohue (2nd with Lehigh Lad in 1982), Alison Smith (2nd with Sunshine Band in 1996), Debra Lewis (8th with All Hart in 1996) and Emma Stewart (8th with Philadelphia Man in 2015) as the only women trainers to have a runner in a Perth Inter Dominion final.

Based on previous results history says Galactic Star will finish either 2nd or 8th in next week’s final.
