ONE has been successful at his last two starts, the other hasn’t scored in 10 months, but that’s no indication of their prospects at Globe Derby tomorrow night according to trainer Mario Borg.
Borg has four runners on the program, with Its Bedlam and Go Go Shikari his best candidates for success.
Racing in top form, Its Bedlam will begin from barrier two in the opening event, with Go Go Shikari also drawn two later on the card.
“Bedlam is going great and is a big chance again,” Borg said. “Shikari’s been having no luck, but is working a treat.
“I worked them yesterday and Shikari was 100 metres better. Shikari certainly gets his chance to break the drought.”
Go Go Shikari will be driven by ‘young gun’ Jayden Brewin, with Borg taking advantage of the reinsman’s claim.
“From there I expect him to win,” Borg said. “He’s working great and has the right draw to take advantage of.”
Fresh from wins at Wayville and Globe Derby, Its Bedlam has also drawn well thanks to Josh Holberton’s concession claim.
Although Its Bedlam has led during his two wins, Borg hasn’t set any plans with the son of Washington Vc.
“Itz Sportz Torque comes out quickly and will likely be pushed forward from the pole,” Borg said. “I don’t know if a battle for the lead is the best option.
“I’ll have to discuss it with Josh and go from there. In the end, it will be up to him once the mobile pulls away.”
