RACE 8 – THE VALE OF AVOCA PACE (2100MS)
Paddy Lee, trainer of Jilliby Zagami advised subsequent to a poor performance at Charlton on 17 January 2022, that blood tests had revealed a low grade virus. The mare has been treated and resumed work this week. Mr. Lee stated he plans to now continue with the current preparation.
Ballarat – 22 January 2022
RACE 2 – CARIBU TROT (2200MS)
Andy Gath, trainer of Vacation Hill NZ, advised following a disappointing performance at Ballarat on 22 January 2022, that the mare had recovered well. Mr.Gath stated that he did expect more of Vacation Hill NZ on her Australian debut, however believes the mare is still acclimatising to local conditions. Vacation Hill NZ has worked well since and is engaged to race at Tabcorp Park Melton on Saturday night (29/1/2022).
RACE 5 – E B COCHRAN TROTTERS CUP (GROUP 2) (2200MS)
Anthony Butt, stable representative of Majestic Man NZ advised following a disappointing performance at Ballarat on 23 January 2022, that a subsequent veterinary examination had revealed an ulcer on the epiglottis which is now being treated. Mr.Butt stated that the gelding will continue with the current preparation, likely to next start at Tabcorp Park Melton on 4 February 2022.
