Ignatius will make a return to Tabcorp Park Menangle tonight.

GROUP 1 winning pacer Ignatius is being prepared for an interstate raid.

Trainer-driver James Rattray has the Victoria Cup earmarked for his talented pacer and tonight’s result at Menangle will determine if Ignatius is sent south for the Grand Circuit feature.

With racing in New South Wale under a regional model, Ignatius has not been able to contest metropolitan-grade events of late as he is trained outside of that region with Rattray based in Exeter.

However, Rattray has found a way to make it work.

“I can’t go to Menangle as I’m outside of the area so I will have Igantius and Star Major transported to Hannah Rixon’s at Pheasants Nest and she will take the horses to the races,” Rattray said.

“Hannah has worked at my stable before so she knows how to take care of them.

“They will spend the day and night at her place and then come back home.

“John McCarthy will drive both horses . . . he has driven some great horses in the past and I didn’t hesitate putting him on at all.”

The iForm team have put together the best bets for Menangle tonight:

Menangle best bet

Race 1: Ilikemebettor (4)

Ran well in fast time last start and the key here is he draws to go forward and put an early space on his main rival.

Menangle next best

Race 7: The Croupier (3)

Looks set to get a gun run and gets back to a very suitable class of race.

Play the exotics

The Menangle quaddie

Race 5: 6,4,9,2

Race 6: 8,2,5,9

Race 7: 3

Race 8: 3,7,6

$48 for 100%
