The excitement in the lead up to the 2020 APG NATIONAL MIXED SALE that kicks off this time next week (and closes Sunday the 9th of August) is certainly building momentum.

Why wouldn’t it!

We’ve got a mare in the sale that’s won north of $650,000 on the track, and who has already left a $177,737 winner of her own. Add that to another mare that’s in foal to Art Major, with her previous foal by him, having now won north of $275,000. We also have a very special mare that’s not only the half -sister to three elite horses that have won north of $500,000, she is the dam of an ill-fated star on the rise that won $324,600 from just 22 starts.

If the above is not enough, what about the Group 1 winning maiden mare with a free return(conditions may apply) to American Ideal - a leading stallion with more than 30 mares on his wait list.

This 2020 APG National Mixed Sale will be an event that is destined to captivate the attention of the most discerning buyers.

To think we haven’t even mentioned a very special young Bettors Delight mare, who’s dam won NZ 3Y0 & 4YO Mare Of The Year award. What’s amazing about this family is the 2nd Dam also won the 2004 NZ 3YO Filly Of The Year award. All this goes to highlight the strength of the lots that have come from all over this nation to support a sale that the sport has come to embrace.

The 2020 APG NATIONAL MIXED SALE has 195 lots in total and with a large number broodmares in foal listed in this auction. Some of these are in foal to the leading sires available in this country. Many of our exceptional vendors understand the best way to get their lots sold is to set very achievable reserves and let the market determine their true value.

Early enquiries from astute buyers has indicated that this year’s shortage of available elite stallions (due to the new 150 book) is driving interest.

This logic will make sense to many. Another great example of forward-thinking strategies could be to invest in mares that are in foal to prominent sires like Art Major, American Ideal, Always B Miki, Betting Line, Father Patrick, Lazarus, Rock N Roll World, Sweet Lou etc..

The sire power used in the “Broodmare In Foal” section of the sale is extremely impressive.

Please note APG is getting daily updates from key horse transporting companies on the most cost effective (and COVID 19 compliant) ways of moving horses interstate.
