The QBRED FOR LIFE bonus system aligned to APG eligible horses has sparked considerable amount of interest both at home in QLD and down south in the southern states. It’s an extremely positive sign for the sport going forward and it has plenty of backers.

When we spoke today to Peter Bell who runs Egmont Park (alongside his wife Leann), he said, “the enquiries for this far out, for the 13 yearlings we are preparing for our clients for Brisbane’s big sale’s day, has been very pleasing as it looks like the southerners are starting to understand just how good the opportunities are for these APG/QBRED FOR LIFE yearlings. To think just 38 pacing yearlings can compete for the $100,000 Gr.1 Brisbane Sales Race is very exciting”.

Queensland’s revolutionary “QBRED For Life” Scheme offers incredible earning opportunities, and can be particularly advantageous for Interstate buyers.  Under the QBRED For Life scheme, owners of eligible horses will receive a $10,000 cash bonus for their horses’ first win in Queensland, and will then receive a further $7,500 cash bonus for their horse’s first Queensland win in a subsequent racing season.

The Bells are preparing Lot 1, a Captaintreacherous Colt out of the champion Gr.1 winning mare  Forever Gold who finished with a career of 92-42-12-15 and stakes of $700,593.

Captaintrecherous has set the harness racing world on fire in NA winning both titles of Leading Money Winning Sires in 2019 for 2-year-old and 3-year-Old Pacers.

This well grown colt that has the looks that should catch the eye of many and has the potential  to set the tone for the day.

Lot 8, will be the first Betting Line yearling to go under the hammer in this country and reports are he is stunning. From the mare Making Gold, this colt is a half-brother of Forever Gold (above) and from the same N4 branch as:
