  • The Byford horse swimming pool will be drained tomorrow morning in preparation for the commencement of renovation works on Monday 13 January.
  • As a construction site the swimming pool complex will be fenced and screened off on Monday and the contractor has been instructed not to use power tools prior to 8.30am or after 5pm for the duration of the build.
  • The fast track will be open for work from 5am giving trainers a three and a half hour window to work horses before the noise associated with the building work commences.
  • Please be aware, there will be one day only where multiple concrete trucks will be onsite earlier than 8.30am and this process will bring with it some noise disruption.
  • Trainers can continue to use the fastwork track between the hours of 8.30am and 12pm with the knowledge there will be noise from the building site.
  • Similarly, at the end of the day, construction works will cease at 5pm and there will be a window from 5pm through until dark to fastwork without the disruptive noises of the building site.
  • Trainers are asked to modify their general route to the fastwork track with access being past the front of the Machinery Shed for the duration of the build.
  • For OHS reasons, the southern gate on the track will continue to remain closed.
  • Please refer any problems or operational concerns that arise during the renovation period to Byford Track Manager Steve Van De Klashorst.  Steve will liaise with the contractors on behalf of the Byford members.
