AUSTRALIAN Pacing Gold graduates have dominated the national awards.
Of the six pacing gongs, APG stock captured an incredible five titles.
With 10 wins and six placings from 19 starts, Pistol Abbey was crowned Mare of the Year.
Trained by Emma Stewart, Pistol Abbey’s victories include the Queen of the Pacific and Vicbred Super Series Final – both Group Ones.
Stewart also prepares Be Happy Mach and Maajida, which claimed the two-year-old awards.
Be Happy Mach enjoyed a stellar freshman season with 10 wins and a third from 11 starts.
The colt’s wins include the Group One New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge and Australasian Breeders’ Crown.
Maajida won seven of her eight outings, with a second also to her credit.
Triumphant in the Vicbred Super Series Final last July, Maajida annexed the Australasian Breeders’ Crown the following month.
Another multiple Group One winner, No Win No Feed was judged Three-Year-Old Filly of the Year.
Prepared in New South Wales by Craig Cross, No Win No Feed scored in the Breeders’ Crown, Bathurst Gold Bracelet and New South Wales Breeders’ Challenge Finals.
Thanks to his wins in the New South Wales and Tasmania Derbys along with the Australasian Breeders’ Crown, Max Delight is the Three-Year-Old Colt/Gelding of the Year.
A member of the David Aiken stable, Max Delight finished the term with nine wins and three placings from 16 starts.
