RWWA - Senior Steward – Harness
The opportunity
We are seeking a full time Stipendiary Steward-Harness. Reporting to the Chief Steward-Harness, this position maintains and upholds fair Harness Racing in Western Australia and supervises and enforces the industry’s probity and integrity as empowered by the Australian Rules of Racing. The successful candidate will be required to work weekends, after hours and public holidays.
About you
Ideally to be successful in this role you will need
- Extensive experience in Harness racing, administration and the rules of racing
- Knowledge of current legislation, e.g. Rules of Racing, Racing Penalties Appeal Tribunal Act and Betting Control Act
- Practical and theoretical knowledge of horses
- Well-developed knowledge of procedural fairness and natural justice
- Sound communication, negotiating and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
- Sound computer literacy skills
- Current ‘C’ class driver’s license
