Bianca Heenan has had a quiet week or two by her 2018/19 season standards but the stable bounced back to winning form in Hobart to land three winners on the six-event card.
Bianca’s sits comfortably at the top of the Leading Female trainer’s table with 44 wins, but even more impressive she is perched second behind runaway leader Ben Yole on the state training award.
Miss Maguire started Bianca’s winning run in the first, the three-year-old filly was in search of her second win from her last three starts.
“Paul (Hill) drove Miss Maguire beautifully in the first, he had her parked one-one and when moves came at the 800-metre mark he elected to hold his position rather than pull out three-wide too early,” said Bianca.
“Paul’s race-winning move was switching down to the peg line inside the 400-metre pole and wait the for the sprint-lane and Miss Maguire had plenty to give and she sprinted through strongly.”
Punter’s rallied behind the stable with Swap Me (pictured) in race four, the gelding has enjoyed a successful year with wins coming at St Marys on New Year’s Day and Carrick and Hobart in March.
“Taylor landed Swap Me in the perfect trial and she stayed there until the home corner when the challengers found the going tough and she hooked out three wide on straightening and Swap Me took care of the rest.” said Heenan.
Drifting Away completed the Heenan treble and Taylor Ford double with a sustained sprint down the centre of the track.
“Drifting Away has won four of his last eight starts for us, he settled back in the field but when they made their moves so early Taylor was able to sit back and made one run at them at the 300 and the race in his keeping turning for home,” said Heenan.
