AN INTERSTATE trip is on the cards for talented trotter Kitsilano.

Speaking after the filly’s success in a Southern Cross Final during the weekend, trainer Greg Rogers revealed his plans to tackle the best of her crop over the border.

Rogers has set his sights on the Victoria Trotters’ Oaks, which is scheduled to be conducted at Tabcorp Park Melton on June 1.

Kitsilano’s previous trip to Melton resulted in her running second behind She Is The One last February.

“We’ll be heading back over to Victoria with her now,” Rogers said. “She won’t have another race before the Victoria Oaks in a couple of weeks.

“She’s certainly earned the trip and with a bit of luck she will get a good run on the night.”

Kitsilano rounded her out Blue Riband campaign with a soft win around Port Pirie.

With Rogers holding the reins the daughter of Armbro Variable led throughout to score from Jealous Fling and My Hips Dont Lie.

Rating 2:02.7 over 2050 metres, the three-year-old slashed four seconds from the track record.

“She went so well,” Rogers said. “I’ve got no doubt she would have broken two minutes if I pushed her along a bit.

“That run will top her off nicely before we go to Victoria.”

Kitsilano’s triumph capped a stellar night for Rogers after his son, Ken, won a Southern Cross Final earlier in the evening.

Ken scored with the Emma Stewart-trained One Highway Tohell, which proved too slick in the Group Two decider for two-year-old colts and geldings.
