Bendigo Harness Racing Club (BHRC) established its self at Lords Race Way, established in 1954 and is now seen as one of the leading country trotting clubs in the industry. Known for its fast track and great facility’s, the BHRC is committed to developing a vibrant and sustainable club which promotes participation, integrity, racing excellence and grows returns to all our stakeholders. We run approximately 32 race meetings combined with another 46 trial meeting throughout year. 

The Opportunity

The BHRC is looking for a self-motivated, flexible person with good communication skills to fill this full-time position. Working closely with the Senior Track Curator, you will be assisting in the day to day track preparation of the venue for trials, race meetings and training, along with the ground’s maintenance of all external lawns and gardens and the horse stable area.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and maintenance of the track for racing, trials and training
  • General repairs and maintenance duties
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in work processes and procedures and adapt to change in workplace practices
  • Maintaining all external areas including lawn areas, garden beds and inside of race track
  • Maintaining the horse stabling area and change rooms
  • Undertake general maintenance tasks
  • To assist in the preparation of the venue for the conduct of trials and race meetings

About You

To be considered for this role you will ideally need,

  • Ability to work within the team to ensure that all tasks are completed
  • Good communication and Interpersonal skills
  • Willingness to learn and take direction
  • Basic mechanical and handyman skills
  • Valid Victorian Driver’s license
  • Willingness to obtain a medium rigid heavy vehicle license.
  • Ability to be flexible with hours and weekend work
