Yole on target for triple figures

The state's premiership-winning trainer of the past two seasons, Ben Yole, is closing in on the magical ton for the third successive season.

Ben's team notched up another winning treble in Hobart on Sunday night, taking his tally for the 2017/18 season from 82 to 85.

The well-supported $2.80 favourite No Apachemee, driven by Mark Yole, kicked punters off on a winning note in the opening race on the card.

"No Apachmee looked a little better than his rivals on paper over a mile and when Mark placed him perfectly in the one-out, one -back position I was feeling fairly confident," said Ben.

"I could see he was travelling well and when Mark let him go at the 500-metre mark he put them away quickly and won in convincing fashion."

No Apachemee's official winning margin in the Cascade Draught Pace proved to be an impressive 17.3-metres, running home the last half in 57.9 seconds.

The Yole stable landed a knock out blow to punters in race five the Triple M Pace over 2090-metres supplying the quinella, both runners at bolters odds.

He's Tight Lipped scored at $31.oo, proving too strong for stablemate Pushkin ($26.00) with the odds-on favourite Little Bit Of Big filling third spot.

"He's Tight Lipped shocked me a little, but he drew well in three and when he took the sit in behind the early leader I thought we may run a place," said the Sidmouth trainer.

"When Rohan (Hadley) went for him off the back he really responded and dashed clear, only the stablemate Pushkin took any ground off him in the home straight so I was very pleased with his effort."

Aunty Rita rounded out the night for Ben in the Crown Lager Pace making it two wins in Hobart in as many weeks.

"Aunty Rita is a tough mare, she was three wide form the 1200-metre pole before coming away to fight out the finish with Delightful Junie at the 600-metre mark, she goes well for Mark and given the way she won, another win might not be too far away."
